Our GIDS 2025 Testimonial: Inspiration, Motivation, and the AI-Powered Future
GIDS-2025The Great International Developer Summit (GIDS) 2025, held at IISc Bangalore from April 22nd to 25th, 2025 delivered an exceptional, next-level experience. The summit brought together world-class visionaries, engineers, researchers, authors, architects and product leaders from across the globe to share their wisdom, expertise, passion, insight, knowledge and rich experience. The theme of the event was “Empowering the tech vanguard”! — to drive progress and shape the future.
The summit offered a diverse array of speeches and interactive sessions, illuminating the technological evolution from the early days efforts of AI and search engines to today’s sophisticated cloud architecture and AI-driven automation.

GIDS-2025
GIDS was an event of four days of sessions and workshops, we attended the summit on the final day. Michael Carducci, who is an amazing magician, author of “mastering software Architecture” delivered an engaging session, advising attendees to broaden their foundational knowledge, commit to continuous learning, and embrace their roles as intentional architects of technology, especially in light of the ongoing evolution of AI.
Nicholas Kontopoulos from Twilio discussed the importance of creating connections beyond code and made a quote “AI is reshaping the role of developers, shifting the focus away from pure code generation towards system design and architectural thinking in large-scale systems”.
We attended a number of sessions by Dr. Venkat Subramaniam, internationally renowned speaker, award-winning author, founder of Agile Developer. He spoke on a range of core technical topics, with one of the most inspiring talks being on “Learning from failures” — a key to success.
There were multiple sessions running in parallel across different halls, so we planned our day based on our interests. Between the session halls, sponsor expo booths were set up for networking and promotion through quizzes, fun games, and presentations. Attendees were excited to participate and win goodies, adding a joyful and engaging vibe to the summit.
GIDS 2025 concluded with an impressive town hall session titled ‘Will AI Replace My Job?’ A panel of industry veterans answered live audience questions, offering valuable insights into the impact of AI on the software industry.
What stood out most in the end was the idea that AI will empower software engineers by introducing another layer of abstraction. It will create more opportunities for innovation, while also broadening the responsibilities of developers. To stay relevant in an era of AI-based automation, developers must go beyond just building architecture—they should understand business challenges, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and most importantly, strengthen their foundational concepts. AI is not magic; AI is a science!
